I've been told that the standard focal length for a camera can be determined by measuring the diagonal of the sensor/film so for 35mm film it is 43.2666mm. No one seems able to tell me why though and I was wondering if anyone on the list knows
ps I doubt I have to say this to people on this list but please don't guess the answer.
