  It is a perspective thing ... and 35mm ^may^ offer a perspective closer to
our own.  To answer Keith's original question ... there is no answer because
there is no direct comparison.  Consider Ansel Adams' statement (via Al
Loeb) to be a "definition" for what ^may^ be considered a "normal" lens ...
i.e., it is a rule of thumb, and an easy method for comparing which lenses
offer the same perspective relative to different sizes of the focal plane.
