Ah, the joys of the legal system. Lawrence seems to have a very different interpretation of the GPL than the FSF has. Personally I prefer to err on the side of caution and take the more strict FSF interpretation, but as other have said: when in doubt (ie always) consult a lawyer to take a look at your specific situation. I certainly do.
