Just as a matter of interest as I've always wanted to know, how do you keep track of the time to be added on and is it just down to yourself to make a
judgement or do you actually accumulate time on another stopwatch?

Most referee watches have a second counter for stoppage time; I used that for a while, but just gave that watch to my son to use. I have a new watch that has a separate timer, but I have to switch between sessions to do that, and I find that too distracting, so I just stop the timer during injuries and such. On a few occasions I've mentally kept track of time to add, but that only works at the very end of the game.
