That was just another way of saying they aren't acting in our interests. They've injected our military into the ME cycle of violence; squandered our lives and resources on a "mistake"; ruined whatever positive image we had in the world; ignited another arms race in Asia; falsely propped up our economy with deficit spending; allowed the en masse flight of important industries off-shore; enriched the wrong industries; fed media consolidation; ushered in the age of Big Brother; painted a target on our backs, and they rule with an arrogant, belligerent attitude. In a nutshell, they are steering us deeper into a storm, the likes of which we will greatly regret. I'm not taking bets on when the next lightning bolt will strike, but that's exactly what happens in storms. There were times in history when our gov't did represent us, or at least tried, but what we have today is a whole other thing. This country was founded on the notion that power belongs to it's people, and that was the one thing that set us up as an example for the rest of the world to follow. Not only have we seen this notion reversed, but it's happened right in the face of technology that could have been used to advance it. Imagine the way things could and should be, compared to how they are.
