OK, point taken. The video showed extreme cruelty, and the people responsible for such cruelty are despicable. There are many other cases in which animals are made to suffer for no reason other than the convenience of the company exploiting them.

That said, I feel that the way to help stop these abuses is to focus on them, and not use them as bait for a group with a much larger agenda. PETA is more concerned with forcing their POV, in which animals are equal to humans, than they are stopping any particular case of abuse. Their leaders have opposed research on rats that could cure AIDS, saying that the rats' lives are just as valuable as any human life that could be saved. They oppose the use of any animal product whatsoever, no matter how it is obtained. They are self- righteous and convinced that they hold a higher truth, a truth that justifies whatever actions they deem necessary.

If you truly want to *effectively* raise awareness of actual cruelty, PETA isn't the organization to do it with. They have lost any credibility in the eyes of most, despite the good intentions of many of their members.
