To be quite honest, I don't really care what these rogue elements did in the *past* (who were *not* supported by PETA, and were perpetuated by copycats), but I am concerned about what I can do *now* to prevent animals suffering in slaughter houses. A cow having its tendons slashed by someone who has no training in such a method, and stabbed in the eyes to force the animal to the floor does not seem a very humane method of killing an animal. I would rather concentrate on that.

Are you using 'terrorist' in the George Bush meaning of the word, or in its actual meaning, which is to promote change through random acts that inspire fear? In their campaign against the wearing of animal fur, it was a common tactic for PETA members to douse fur-wearers in public with blood or a blood-like liquid. They showed up unannounced, and it was this fear of being doused in blood that forced many people to change their fur-wearing habits. You're saying that these events, which happened (and still do) quite regularly, were not the work of PETA, but by large numbers of 'rogue' members across the world who all happened to employ the same tactic in the same manner? Has any official PETA statement been made that disavowed these tactics, and called for those who carried them out to be put in jail? -- Ed Leafe -- http://leafe.com -- http://dabodev.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
