I think the reason I hated that module is that I couldn't see what use
it had.  I understood that it was to teach functional programming, but I
had already been doing that before I went to uni.  That was another
thing I couldn't understand!  People doing computer related courses that
hadn't done any IT subjects at a'level or gcse.  The mind boggles.

Yeah, we used it at uni also, and I loved it.  Functional programming is
completely different to standard imperative programming, and takes a
little getting used to.  But when you do, it is a tremendously powerful
computing paradigm.

BWT we did our OOP using C++
