One year the Electrical Engineers protested that they didn't get enough IT resources (central services in those days). They said that they had 350+ students doing 6 hours a week IT work. Our case that we should keep all our kit/access was our 100 students where doing 30+ hours a week. Not only that but the Electrical Engineers were only using 15% of the system resources available whereas we use about 70.

So they had to do without (can you image that these days?).

Generally I feel that anyone who picks a course where you have to calculate Fourier analysis by hand deserve everything they get.
