How many died over the centuries during the crusades, purges, and
inquisitions from religious factions around the world? This figure
would be particularly relevant as a percentage of the total world
population at the time of the atrocities. The crusades even persist
into the present day with Christianity pitted against Islam.

We should probably also include deaths resulting from those who
worshipped Gods of the material world like gold, oil, precious gems,
lavish living, etc.

Also, Hitler was a Christian Evangelical. He claimed he was choose,
brought to power, and guide by a higher power to rule the world.
