There's another angle that I'm thinking but didn't mention: that VFP is
likely intertwined with Windows and can't be "detached" as might be
possible if it only used Windows API's. As I recall, this was a reason
MS presented for not breaking the company up into, say, an OS company
and an applications company, because it couldn't be done owing to this
problem.
