I think the mistake that is being made in this discussion is the assumption
that it is (tablets and touch screens)  OR (keyboards and mice) implying
that they are mutually exclusive.  I believe in horses for courses, select
the best technology available for the specific task.  My son has a nexus
tablet which he thinks is great but has a cover for it which is also a
keyboard.  Add a touch pad to the keyboard and you have a mouse substitute.
I can see a future (in the near future) when we will see conventional
desktop PCs doing the grunt work of creating content and tablets for
consuming the content with hybrid machines where the detachable screen is a
tablet for the in-between work.
