This is happening here in America now. I have received 3 resume requests in the last 30 days which is saying something because I have had zero requests for the last two years. All of them look at the gap I have from 2011 till now. And even though I tell them I have been working as a realtor, they turn their nose up and I never hear from them again. There is a guy named eamon fingleton (spelling) that writes about japan. What is happening in this article is NOT happening in japan according to him as Japan has implemented a protectionist economy and is doing very well.
