Remember. the plural of anecdote is NOT "data"
This is one man's recollection of what tablets meant to him at Microsoft
("Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition" - yikes!) and then NetFlix, it
doesn't mean your FoxPro app (ah-ha! On-topic!) isn't the killer app for a
tablet.

So, do you think that tablet apps are just going to merge and evaporate
into smart TVs, higher-res phones and laptop apps? Is "The Net" just a fad?
Opinions and insights welcomed.
Mine: Mark Twain is credited as saying, "History doesn't repeat, but it
sure does rhyme" and I'm curmudgeonly enough to recall the past FOUR times
Microsoft pushed tablets. I was able to dig up the reference: a Fox Wiki
post I made in 2003, which in turn references a Boston Computer Society
meeting from 1992, where the sense of the reviewer was "we've seen this
all before" Holy recursive rofls, Batman.

"For some perspective on Pen Computing, here's a presentation to the Boston
Computer Society, summarized as "A lot of it has happened before..."
http://users.erols.com/rwservices/pens/penhist.html The ironic thing is
this was presented ten years ago. -- Ted Roche"
In fact, I think a lot of the hardware capacity issues and software
limitations cited in the earlier presentation have been addressed. The
irony of it, now, is that it is the hardware form factor itself that's the
issue: too big and clumsy to carry, store and use for many of the purposes,
while phones with high-density displays ("retina"), quality optics and
large amounts of processing power and storage are taking the center stage.
Interested to hear of others experiences and opinions re: tablets, smart
phones, smart TVs, etc.
