Being that the uk is going through a thing with medical records at the
moment, I don't think that doctors having to worry about the platform is the
original meaning. It is if the doctor can look at records or chooses not to
because he hates modern computers.
In the uk it's the patients that currently choose not to have records. The
reason is that the government, probably because of lobbying and or handouts,
want the drug companies to have access to them. And the people do not want
that. I myself think the health service should have records so if I , for
example, go to a dentist, he knows I have Diabetes and can act accordingly.
I would be happy to have my records (maybe with my permission) accessible by
anyone who NEEDS to know. But not drug companies who are interested only in
profit. There are enough google and facebook companies stealing information
as it is.
So I am in 2 minds as to if modern innovations are good or bad. And hence 2
minds about the answer to the current question.
As to who types it in. We is that not where our job comes in. Make it quick
and easy for the doctor/nurse to fill in the data?

Doctors and nurses should focus on their medical jobs, not dealing with
computers in my opinion.

Hospitals could arrange clerks to help doctors doing the computer job, as
long as the doctors proof--read whatever the clerks typed into the
computers.
