Interested to hear of others experiences and opinions re: tablets, smart
phones, smart TVs, etc.
Don't say that! I'm just researching buying my first tablet. Yeah I
know, very late to the party but I don't like to rush into things ;-)
In the article the guy more or less says his tablets are not really
needed as he do any serious computing on his desk computer and casual
computing can be done using his smartphone. That's the gap I want to
fill - the casual surfing or odd email when sitting on the couch and you
don't want to have to go upstairs and turn on the computer etc. I don't
have a smartphone as I don't really think it is worth it for the amount
of times I would use the extra features. I can't actually see myself
taking the tablet anywhere out of the house. If I go on holiday say I
want to be exploring and enjoying the location, not staring at a tablet.
I have a fairly new plasma TV but the only things I need it to do are
play/view files on a stick/External hard drive and connect to blu-ray
player and amp. Some of the features I have seen just seem to be gimicks.
YMMV
