Just quoting the article. For personal use, especially those like me who
think that smartphones are very very expensive toys, tablets might fill a
niche. For many of the businesses we work with, tablets may or may not fit
the needs of the business.

I just got off the phone with a former and perhaps future client looking
for a mobile solution and tablets were one possibility.

This might be one situation: phones as the mobile solution, tablets as the
thing you keep next to the couch or bed. Similarly, tablets might be right
to tote around inside a business, but not necessarily something you carry
to client meetings off-site.

Here we are showing our pre-electronics-era ethos: I shake my head at
concerts where it's hard to see the performer for all the cell phones held
aloft, or see anything but the top of everyone's head at a meeting as they
all stare into their electronic toys.

I got a Chromecast when they came out and like the convenience of clicking
a widget on my local device to play something on the big screen.
Integrating a laptop or tablet as the smart controller for a TV with apps
like Netflix or Hulu or Youtube is a pretty good model of digital
convergence in my mind.

That said, I generally find the tablet UX clunky, as my fat fingers stab at
undersized buttons and get poor feedback.
