Other than a bad start menu I see little difference. I did like 7 but 8.1 is not terrible. In fact I quite like typing in what I want to look for on the start page. but bring back the start menu. I think 8 would benefit from allowing folders of apps. One thing, I rarely use tiled apps. They seem poor versions. Skype was awful on tile, and for some reason Microsoft is now trying to make the desktop version unusable too.

Sure glad that we no longer have that display from Win 3.1.  Seriously

I agree, Gene.  In the same vein, I just got a notice that my new Mac Mini
is ready to pick up at the Apple Store.  I plan to put Windows 8.1 running
in Parallels on it, which should cover my casual VFP work, and use OS X the
rest of the time.
