Regarding Avast

Do you know if it is possible to get the upgrade popups to go away, and still
have the notifications of updates and alerts still there?

That was my objection to using Avast and AVG's free product in the past. Good products, but very annoying and I got tired of answering the question "Why do I keep getting asked to pay for...." At least with MSE it just did its thing and kept quiet.
