I just changed my Macbook Pro to a full 512Gb SSD and the difference to the old 512Gb hard disk model, that was fast anyway is just amazing. Total boot time is about 6 seconds from a cold boot and running programs is just instant. Also, VM's which used to take 30+ seconds to load now load instantly whish is a great productivity boom, however I miss the inbuilt CD rom but the depth of the model and weight are significantly less than the older model and I have got 3 years applecare as I certainly don't fancy the replacement costs for the battery (which is actually glueed into the chasis.... and glued in, in a BIG way much like sh*t on a blanket!) or the SSD, which is just a crazy price should it go wrong!!
Having said that, I don't anticipate any problems if it is as reliable as the old model. So now I'm definitely a Macophile having had two machines!
