Have you tried tools--options--forms--snap to grid and uncheck this last one?

Over the years I found that the snap to grid feature in forms and reports makes me loose control of where I want to place the objects. Instead, with no snap to grid, I can place anything where I want, provided I had not been drinking too much wine, or beer :-) :-) :-)

Hi All

What have I done?

In the VFP main window especially when editing forms forms for instance, when I
click and hold on an object to move it with the mouse the shadow which appears
is further up and to the left. When I drop it where I think I want it, it
appears elsewhere.
Hi Chris,

Try using both hands, one hand firmly holding the mouse in the position where
you want to drop. Didn't used to be a problem but now the processors are so
fast . . .
