Have you tried tools--options--forms--snap to grid and uncheck this last one?

Over the years I found that the snap to grid feature in forms and reports makes 
me loose control of where I want to place the objects. 
Instead, with no snap to grid, I can place anything where I want, provided I 
had not been drinking too much wine, or beer :-) :-) :-)
