Kodi is the new name of XBMC, which used to be the X Box Media Center project, though it had long outgrown that one platform. I had it running on Apple TV, and primarily used it for Hulu, which unfortunately the Hulu folks have blocked. But it worked with a bunch of other stuff, too. And the Apple TV is finally no longer supported, either, as that was a tricky jailbreak situation.
I'd like to hear how easy it is to get a Raspberry Pi working with Kodi, too. Like the MythTV I ran for years before that, it was always a little bit hacky and never popular with the rest of the family...
