Hmm. What you're doing with bridging is exactly the same as the wireless, only getting the antennas a little more closely aligned, If this still is not good enough for you, my LUG set up some specialty antennae and power-over-ethernet for a booth we had set up at a radio hamfest ~800 yards from my house. I was able to configure my broadband so we had internet connectivity at the booth, a real win.
