RK - just to follow up to your suggestion. I did resolve that one compile issue (a date field problem on another screen) - and did a full recompile.
It's a No Go - Error is still occurring... -K ________________________________ From: Kurt Wendt <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, March 21, 2025 1:54 PM To: ProFox Email List <[email protected]> Subject: Re: Backlink Issue w/Form&Proj NOT re:DBC Hey RK - thanks for the quick reply. I did indeed already do "building the project with the recompile option" - and I got One error. But, it was a completely different screen - and not the Logon2 screen, which appear in Backlink error message. Also, Although we use a DBC - that DBC is not actually included in the Data section of the project. But, I will attempt to do a Validate on the Database and see what happens. -K ________________________________ From: ProFox <[email protected]> on behalf of Richard Kaye <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, March 21, 2025 1:47 PM To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: RE: Backlink Issue w/Form&Proj NOT re:DBC [You don't often get email from [email protected]. Learn why this is important at https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification ] Try building the project with the recompile option. You should get an ERR file that might point you at whatever DBF-style thing is complaining. Also, if you do have any DBCs, run VALIDATE DATABASE on each one and see what that tells you. -- rk From: ProfoxTech <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Kurt Wendt Sent: Friday, March 21, 2025 1:43 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Backlink Issue w/Form&Proj NOT re:DBC Hey there Folks, I'm back again - now working at the new job at Pako here in OH. Was here several days - head back down DEEP in the VFP world (Nothing - and I mean NOTHING Runs Like the Fox!) - and suddenly yesterday I got a bad issue. I've never seen the issue before. It's actually stopping me from running the system on my local C: drive dev environment - which I WAS Able to do up until yesterday afternoon. I'm really Stumped on this one. I did research on the web, and then searching the ProFox Archives. But, it seems ALL References to a problem with a Backlink Error and resolutions here on ProFox (and even on other Web searches) was in regards to DBC & DBF files - and NOT with regards to Project and Form files! The error spit out by the system is as such: An Unexpected Program Error has Occurred... x Error number: 0 Error message: Error loading file - record number 6. LOGIN <or one of its members>. Loading form or the data environment : Cannot resolve backlink Line number of error: 116 'Command with error: DO FORM common\forms\Logon2.scx Program with error: START I've tried SO Many things. Pulling the Logon2 screen back out, deleting from Disk, then dropping another copy into same location, Rebuilding Project file, and even doing the Recompile All Files in the Build Options - but, Nothing seems to work! So, I'm really Stuck. And, Of course, I surely do NOT want to be running the Live system, as I don't want to be touching Live data - thus why everything is copied down to my C: Drive. Will also note, I can double click on that Logon screen within the project - and even edit the screen. But, upon trying to compile and run the system - that's when things go Totally FUBAR! Ugh... Any help would be Greatly appreciated. -Kurt [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: https://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: https://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: https://leafe.com/archives This message: https://leafe.com/archives/byMID/ch3pr13mb66025d41333bb287cf19bbdbc3...@ch3pr13mb6602.namprd13.prod.outlook.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
