New technologies and new operating systems always bite
us again and again.

I hate how they default new computers to new operating
systems automatically.

I hate how they sell the average user a quick and easy
way to upgrade without hinting at possible problems.

I lost a client once way back in 1995 because he
upgraded his computer to windows 95, compressed his
hard disk, and completely screwed up his whole system
. After charging him for 10 hours of work to get him
working again by restoring from backup, reinstalling
his os, and admonishing him for not giving me a quick
phone call to verify that it was OK to upgrade in the
first place, he paid me and never called me again for
more work.

A real lose-lose situation.
