Hi John! U3A? New Linux users are often bewildered that it is not user-friendly. It is hard to do anything in Linux because it is all a little different than Windows, MAC or even DOS. This is where most of its security comes from, the pimple-face "code-kiddies" can't use their windows skills to play with it. Also, real hackers don't bother because home-use Linux is only 1% or so of the available targets. The average Linux user will NOT need AV or Anti-Spyware if he/she leaves the built-in security in place. The downside is that all the IE only sites will come up blank or act funny if you don't have IE. On Linux you will be using Mozilla, Konqueror or something else other than IE. -- Regards, Pete http://www.pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
