I have mentioned that perhaps he has some culpability in those overruns. :-)

As far as the lawyers go, I'll only call one if things get a whole lot
worse. I know where the money went. I wrote all the checks. It was all
digging holes and breaking rocks and waterproofing and drainage and
backfilling and so on and so forth. The problem only made its ugly presence
known when we went to draw from indirect to pay the general contractor and
the bank said they had been paying it out all along. IOW, it was gone
already and they hadn't told us. So that's how we managed to fork over all
that extra money without realizing we had such a big problem.

I think we'll get it solved. I don't know what the solution will be yet, but
I believe that we haven't come this far for this long just to get slapped
down in the last two months. It could happen, but my gut says it won't.
