Personally I've never had the need to enforce licensing to that extent so I
don't know.  I generally find the apps I write are so specific that I can
agree a fixed price for an unlimited number of copies with an upgrade fee
when a new feature is required.  The app I mentioned earlier would have
required a revised price list to be sent to my client's customers at
intervals and he wanted to ensure that no one was using an old price list.
