In the overall scheme of things, you don't have sufficient data.  However, 
assuming it is a real trend, can you plot this honestly in a manner that shows 
it is significantly beyond the realm of natural fluctuation?  Then, can you 
show there is a cause that can be remediated?

If not, then you can handle my worrying in addition to your own.  I simply do 
not have time for it.  Investigate all you want, but if your conclusions 
require that we all go along for them to succeed, you jolly well better show 
some really significant deviation from natural variations.  Otherwise, would it 
not be wrong for us puny humans to try to do anything that would interfere with 
the order of nature?

Heck, are we not wrong to try to extinguish forest fires caused by lightning 
that clear large areas of underbrush, trees, etc. so a new life cycle may begin 
in that section of land?
