Yes, I agree. IBM is behind many efforts in the Free and Open Source space and has contributed some great work, resources and money. I am concerned that their rebranding of OpenOffice.org software into Lotus Symphony may dilute and confuse the market. SunOffice, OpenOffice.org and Lotus Symphony may be all the same software or the same core software with different add-ons. On the other hand, Eclipse turned out to be great basis for a number of development IDEs. We'll see how it plays out. Their timing, with MS losing the fast-track effort at ISO standardization and then the EU penalties yesterday, was very well done. -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
