Hmmm well, not that I beta tested Vista Ultimate when it was released to
testers, well ok maybe I did. The requirements that I found best was at least 1
gig of ram, preferably, 2 gig. Hard disk space is up to you as you know how much
space you need depending on what you want to put on it. MS recommends 15 gig I
believe, so 20+ is sufficient. 128 meg, prefer 256 meg graphics card, D-X 9+ I
think 10 is out now, so that would provide the best graphics. DVD burner/
reader/ cd burner/ reader. For cpu, at minimum 2ghz preferably 2.33+ P4 or
better, but best performance would be from a 64 bit cpu's and Core 2 duo 2ghz +.
You could always get two 3.2ghz xeon cpus which would give plenty of power.

If I left anything out, just let me know. I didn't think monitors or lan cards
or sound or keyboard mouse was worth mentioning. Of course though LCD monitor of
17" prefer 19"+ is better.

Subject: [NF] Will Vista trigger another horsepower race?

Hi Everybody!

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/editions/systemrequiremen
ts.mspx

or

http://tinyurl.com/2vmmcn

Reading the system requirements, it looks like Vista will run on current
equipment, however, from the gossip here and elsewhere, it sounds like the
new pig is, well, a hog.

Any opinions on what you really need to run Vista at a reasonable speed? Not
that I will actually do this until I get Vista on a second hand or close-out
machine, but as an academic discussion . . .
