I remembered I asked a similar question a little while back when I was
developing the application in the first place.  Looking at Blat again I
realised why I had not taken it any further - basically it assumes a level
of knowledge that I don't possess.  I did however find a demo programme from
Alan Bourke using Essmtp.ocx based on an article in Craig Boyd's blog which
gave me all the detail I needed.  It works on my system, I now need to try
it at my client's place.
