Not SOLVED, but REsolved. Temporarily, at least. The big problem was that the user just wasn't paying attention. The user being ME in this case. Why wouldn't the user (of the report) expect to see the printed report show up in color after the form that had the 'print' button on it displayed it's stuff in color. Duh.
Right now it looks like they're going to postpone this feature for a while... mainly because they want to ship the thing yesterday. (Whoa, maybe they DID ship it yesterday, and I wasn't paying attention!) Anyway, thanks for the suggestions and offers.... and I'm filing this one away - Cesar, particularly.... I'll let you know!
