Yeah, I've gone through and changed various settings such as :-
SSID hidden / visible.
WPA-PSK on and off, WPA/WEP on and off, no encryption whatsoever.

Still no difference, it still drops all the time (*only* on my home
laptop, work laptop is fine with any of the settings).

Did think to flash the firmware, only problem with that is that it's a
SKY Netgear router which has SKY's firmware in it. :-(

Hi Robbo,

I had this problem with some d-link cards which kept dropping the 
connection, then connecting again.  If you go into properties on your 
wireless network connection at the top will be your network card and a 
button for configure.  If you go into here and yes to the prompt, there 
are some settings.  These settings will be different for every card but 
fortunately for the D-link you can specify an SSID in here and it never 
drops now.

Other things you could try would be reflash the firmware on the router 
and maybe look for another driver for the card.
