This sounds suspiciously like the problem I reported with FTP downloaded
files "disappearing" even though I watched the FTP download and the file
created. Right after FTP finishes, the next instruction, the file
disappeared from Windows Explorer and I'm getting file not found in VFP.
I didn't try your additional test to see if the file is really there,
but it might be (VFP's FILE() function doesn't see it).

Machine in question has Vista Home Basic. Don't experience this with
Vista Home Premium.

Wouldn't get to test again for a little while, but I want to try Jeff
Johnson's suggestion of using  \users\public\myapplication as the target
for the download
