Talking about the media, a Spanish bloke once told me he thought they had more freedom to express their ideas in the times of Franco's dictatorship than today. He told me in those times everything was heavily censored, so much so that people would be thirsty for other kind of news. So if you had something to say you got yourself a printing press and you printed your paper, people would grab them. Nowadays he says there are hundreds of publications, glossy, with pictures and good diagrammation, but they are all in the hands of the people with economic power, so if you have something different to say they will just not publish it. People are not thirsty for whatever you have to say, so your ideas are more effectively censored. This was a few years ago.
