FWIW, there are legal clubs that let you ask small questions and get short
documents reviewed for "free". The NASE has one that allows several 10-page
documents per month to be renewed for the price of the membership.

Lawyers do have a place in business life. I don't like spending huge amounts
on them, but getting a legal opinion before signing or otherwise acting is a
good idea if it is not too costly.
