Ok so back to the other mentioned Firebird. I see from the web site this is
also totally free which is good, open source, to me not an issue. Is it easy
to use is more the point for me. I must admit I get fed up running round in
circles with windows/exchange/sqlserver permissions. I well take you point
about Linux but for me (again) I cant see programming that unless and easy
ide wioth c# and asp.net comes along. Now you guys might know of one but I
mean big time not a work in progress.

I agree that the MySQL license can be a bit unclear, which is why I opted to
use PostgreSQL, which is every bit as capable as MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle
for my purposes.  Oh, just a reminder, when it comes to licensing concerns
with PostgreSQL...
