I use a Netgear SC101 two drive unit that I got really cheap.  The 
reviews were lukewarm but the unit I have has a fan in it which seemed 
to be why most people complained.  You put your own drives in it and 
hook it up to your network.  A computer on the network needs to have 
software installed on it.  I use it for daily backup of my server and it 
has been working fine for about a year.
