Maybe you can find a tweet from your favorite hockey team. So you will get daily posts from them in the impending days before the season as well as during it. I have one for Vol - SEC sports as well as Packers football. A few in Memphis for news and weird stuff that just happens. Tweets get your message out. Do you monitor any RSS feeds? > I've seen so many fads pop up in IT over the past 10 years and they're > always super-hyped. Am I wrong in that pov? ------------------------------ Yep like java. That was a flop. Were you wrong about interdev? well ID would have gotten you very familiar with HTML, ASP pages and how to work in the stateless environment. Probably all things that you are still not familiar with enough to go after paying clients maybe? That HTML knowledge would have been helpful in the replacement product .NET, if you did web based applications. But in the years of the web, hve you ever done a web application for sale? > I'd like to hear the opinions of folks here on the VALUE of social > networking, and a compelling argument of WHY an IT professional should > social network (beyond what I've mentioned). ------------------------ You may get more feeds for potential clients because the people with the jobs think that email is a joke because theirs is treated like spam, and these new social networks are where the progressive constantly learning folk are now occupying. You can also get info from your kids because they do it as well. As my son is identified in pics on facebook I get notices. Nothing that he would ever do. :) LinkedIn is not for kids but for business people and some have huge connections through it. -- Stephen Russell Sr. Production Systems Programmer Mimeo.com Memphis TN 901.246-0159 _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
