Hi Helio! It is a ritual. Some time visit a traditional Catholic church Latin Mass or a Greek Orthodox Church Service or attend a Jewish Wedding. The groom breaks one of the drinking glasses, for heaven's sake. Are there no rituals in the Japanese religions? In all these cases, people finish what they do there and walk out completely normal.
