There is no history of riding trains in America since the invention of the 
automobile.  While Europe never stopped riding trains, here in America, Buses 
and Cars replaced trains except for subways.

I also enjoyed riding a train in Germany, but it just isn't practical in the 
US.  

A high-speed train from Los Angeles to Las Vegas would be great, but it isn't 
realistic.
