Pete,

You live in Florida, right? Warmer temperatures cause the blood to be
thinner so the body can adapt to the heat. Thin blood and cold temperatures
are not a good mix. If you had stayed for at least 2 weeks, your blood would
have thickened and you wouldn't have freezing.

Just the opposite is true with my wife. She grew up in Northwestern Ontario
where winter temperatures are in the minus 30 to minus 40 range for days on
end. She is boiling when the temperatures get to the low 20s C (70s F)
