Yeah, my main server 'box' is a VM. I completely control the host machine, but my real server is in the VM. Works very well. This allows me to make snapshots before upgrading, easily back up the entire system, shut the system down and restart it, etc. Also, it gives me the opportunity in the future to add other VM's for specific applications or even <gulp!> install Windows Server 2008 or something. >> I charge for the time it takes me, not for hosting.
