Nor do I really "care" if they're paying me regardless.  But my job, as
the IT professional providing my services, is to explain the pros and
cons of each approach, and I can tell you from those experiences I've
had in the past 7 years, I've been able to convince folks (easily) that
running locally was a better choice.

Well, it wasn't intended to be loaded.  I just wanted to hear from
another perspective.  I guess I'm just particular about with whom I
work, avoiding the difficult folks if I can.  ;-)
