Its true. Jap quality has deteriorated some but the main problem (at least her) is that parts are sometimes 5 times the cost of local parts. Not really a problem if they don't break but when they do... I drive a high performance Ford GT and the parts are relatively cheap (not that it actually breaks down). A similar performance imported car would cost 2-3 times as much and the price of parts is just astonishing.
Buying local is usually preferable as long as quality is up to spec and price is at least near the same. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Stephen Russell Sent: Wednesday, 18 February 2009 4:00 AM To: ProFox Email List Subject: Re: [OT] As usual, Calvin was ahead of his time On Tue, Feb 17, 2009 at 11:02 AM, MB Software Solutions General Account <[email protected]> wrote: > On Wed, February 11, 2009 7:28 pm, Ed Leafe wrote: >> http://bit.ly/23R3Xv > > > LOL! Sorry but I have know a bunch of people who have had trouble with Honda and Toyota new vehicles since 2003,4,5 model years. They were all repeat buyers and felt that the replacement car they got was substandard to the one they traded it in initial quality. The translation was cheaper initial parts that the factory was using. I blame the buyers for not only OEM but also aftermarket sellers. they have saved a nickle here and 25.00 there and have brought the accepted quality of parts down a notch. -- Stephen Russell Sr. Production Systems Programmer First Horizon Bank Memphis TN 901.246-0159 [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
