Hi Geoff!

I *hope* to walk again, however. Accident, you know. It has been a 
while, though.

In the US you have to be completely without income for 6 months to 
*apply* for disability. The first application is *always* refused, 
regardless of merit. Then you hire an attorney and sue, if you can.

Can't sue until the first one is refused so you are looking at starving 
to death before it comes to court. Actuarial science is that a certain 
percentage will die working their way through the system and then the 
government gets to keep the money. It has been like this forever, 
nothing to do with either Bush or Obama, everything do do with the fact 
that congress has already spent the money buying votes and recreating 
themselves.
