The land lost by Palestinian families when Palestine was
partitioned in 1948, had been own by Palestinians for
hundreds of years. Many families being forced off their
land today to make way for new Jewish settlements have been
owned by Palestinian families for 4 or 5 hundred years.

After land has been in a family for that long, it can't be
replaced at any cost or any location, whether in Syria,
Jordan, Egypt, or the USA.

Perhaps Israel should be required to buy like kind property
to be given to Palestinian families forced off their
property in exchange for the land Israel takes from them,
but like kind property is always a poor substitute for a
families home place, when the property has been part of the
family for hundreds of years.
