In the USA the state of Texas has a law where a person can
acquire property under the rule of "Adverse Position".
Adverse position works something like this:

"If the owner of a piece of land abandons it, and another
party takes position of the property, operating and
contracting with others, while holding the land out as his
own, and the party in position pays the property taxes on
the land, then after 10 year, the party in position of the
land, adverse to the real owners interest, acquires legal
rights of ownership in the land." This law is in place so
land will remain in productive use, (eg use the land or lose
it).

Since the Jewish people abandoned the land of Israel, and
the Palestinians took the land over, it seems to me the
Palestinian families who have made the land their homes and
have lived off the land from hundreds of year, have acquired
legal rights to ownership of the land.

One of the major problems stirring conflict with Israel's
approach to expansionism seems to be a lack of a system of
justice under which matter of law can be determined, and all
parties treated justly. Israel is allowed to take property
for state expansion with absolute impunity, even as the
rights of the legal owner are trampled; because, there is no
legal system in place. There will always be conflict in a
lawless society, so Israel should establish a legal system
to protect the rights of all members of her society, whether
they are citizen of the state or not.

I know Nazi Germany stripped all legal rights from the
Jewish people, including citizenship, and stole everything
from them include property, money, food, and finally even
their lives, but the suffering of the Jewish people under
Nazi German should not be used as a pretext for treating the
Palestinians unjustly.
